“Better treatment is the right of every poor man,” said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif while visiting along with Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Mayo Hospital Children's Emergency Block. She added,”Monitoring is needed in hospitals, especially in emergencies.”

Both Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inspected different sections of the Emergency, including step down care unit, nursing room, neonatal block and pharmacy. They interacted with the parents of sick children in the triage area. Madam Chief Minister directed the hospital authorities to Improve upon their work ethics.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif were briefed about the emergency block, being managed by Child Life Foundation. Administrator Child Life Foundation, Bushra Abbas apprised them about the procedure of patients’ admission, diagnosis and treatment.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif lamented,”No stone was left unturned in the destruction of health sector during the previous regime.” She added,”Had there been no privatization in the past, we would have been ahead of India in every field today.”

Madam Chief Minister called a meeting of the authorities concerned immediately after visiting Mayo Hospital Children’s Emergency Ward. She co-chaired the meeting along with Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the improvement of child emergencies across Punjab. Child Life Foundation CEO Ahsan Rabbani briefed the participants of the meeting that in every child emergency, life of a sick child can be saved with the fastest automation system. It was briefed that the telemedicine program has become functional in the emergency wards of 153 hospitals across Punjab. He apprised the participants that Telemedicine control rooms have been established in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore. Moreover, he said,”State-of-the-art child emergency blocks will be established in 18 hospitals across Punjab.”

A proposal to open OPDs till 10 PM in Punjab hospitals was also reviewed in the meeting. Madam Chief Minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure availability of dog bite vaccine in hospitals.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information & Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, Health Ministers Khawaja Imran Nazir, Khawaja Salman Rafique and MNA Bilal Azhar Kayani attended the meeting. Dr. Azhar Kayani, Dr. Adnan Khan, Dr. Mehmood Ayaz and others were also present.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif invited the national hockey team to the Chief Minister's office and gave them a check of Rs 30 million (03 Crore) for winning a silver medal in Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament. Instead of her seat in the ceremony, the Chief Minister sat among the players and congratulated them individually by appreciating their winning spirit.

Madam Chief Minister said,” Hockey is not only our national sport but also a national pride.” She added,”At success after 13 years, hockey players will be supported and patronised at every level.” She highlighted,”During the era of so-called sportsman, sports facilities were closed. Instead of bringing a revolution in sports, they destroyed everything.”

The Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”The hockey team has made the nation proud, they will be given full support. Competitions will be held for the promotion of hockey at every level in Punjab.” She added,”I congratulate the hockey team on behalf of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and myself. It is a very proud moment for us that you have raised the national honor in the field of hockey.”

Madam Chief Minister said,” Seeing young players from all over the country, I can say that more success will be achieved in future with attention and support.” She added,”A young sports minister has been appointed in Punjab who has taken great steps in a short period of time. Hockey players will be supported at every level. Sports Minister Faisal Khokhar has been entrusted with the task of rehabilitating sports, God willing, sports will be brought to every street and neighborhood of Punjab.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”Financial support for the development of hockey, academies will improve. International experts will also be provided for training. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will also play his role for the development of hockey.”

Madam Chief Minister said,” Hockey team should cooperate with us for the revival of sports.” She added,”Stay in touch, we will support our team in every way. God willing, our hockey team will achieve more success in future.”

The players of the national hockey team talked Madam Chief Minister on her patronage and appreciation, and assured her of their maximum effort to earn more laurels for the country.

“We are going to train youth in the latest demand-driven IT courses in fields like cloud computing, cyber security, data analytics, graphic designing, artificial intelligence, machine learning and game development in order to multiply their employability,” said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her address at Government Technology College for Women, where she reached to formally launch the 1st Chief Minister Skills Development Programme in Punjab. She inaugurated the project digitally along with the students. 

Madam Chief Minister said,”Under the project, 4000 youth will be trained in 35 TEVTA institutes in different cities.” She added,”The Punjab government will provide training in international standard advanced IT courses to 4000 students every year. God willing, the number will be raised from 4000 to 40,000 gradually.” She highlighted,”TEVTA free training in advanced courses is the right of youth, which was denied to them in the past unfortunately.”

Madam Chief Minister lamented,”When I took the first meeting of TEVTA, I felt very sad that we are still running outdated and obsolete courses and curriculum.” I directed TEVTA to carry out restructuring on modern lines, and immediately adopt curricula according to the market demand, so that the youth get jobs even before they graduate. She added,”Students who complete the course will get certification from international organizations like Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco and Unity.” Madam Chief Minister highlighted,”People will follow the students for jobs when the courses are done according to the job market.” She said,”For advanced courses, experts and faculty need to be hired from outside or from the private sector.” Madam Chief Minister said,”They are also considering providing laptops to the students who complete the courses.”

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”We are starting the country's first IT city in Lahore, which will be launched within a year.” She added,”Tech giants of the world are ready to join the IT City project.”

Madam Chief Minister highlighted,”People just make claims and after five years they have nothing to show.” She added,”Thanks God we did the launch later but 1000 kids have already completed the training.” She noted,”PML-N has never given sticks, slingshots and petrol bombs in the hands of children.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”In the first meeting of Law and Order, I asked DIG Operations what happened to his eye? He replied that he lost his eye in the incidents of May 9.” She added,”When I went to Jinnah House on May 9, my heart was crying. We turned the memorial of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah into a pile of ashes.”

Madam Chief Minister said,” PML-N has given laptops and scholarships to youth instead. We have built Danish Schools and state-of-the-art universities. We are also starting a skill development program now.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”In Bahawalpur, a child's wish for a bicycle to go to school was immediately fulfilled. 

If a child gets a bicycle, he goes to school, not in front of girls' college.” She added,”Those who want to go in front of Girls' College do not need a motorcycle.” She highlighted,”Boys don't need a government bike either for one-wheeling.”

Madam Chief Minister advised the youth,”Don't be one-wheeling young people, take care of your parents, they have raised you with love.” She said,”These are just excuses to prevent public welfare projects.” She recalled,”When they stopped the Orange Line project, how much loss did it cause to the nation?” Madam Chief Minister noted,”Millions of people travel daily on metro bus and metro trains.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met the students in the ceremony. She loved and appreciated them. She also visited the lab and display center of the college and interacted with the students there. She announced to restructure the lab and make it a robotic lab.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif appreciated the handicrafts, paintings, and ceramic work at the display centre. A student presented her a handmade painting. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stopped the car and took a selfie after seeing a student standing on her way back.

Earlier, Madam Chief was given a briefing about the institution established in 1909. She also had a briefing on technical education and training in the college. Provincial Minister for Industries Chaudhry Shafey Hussain highlighted the purpose and scope of the project. He said,”TEVTA’s skilled workers are in demand in Japan, Greece and other industries.”

Madam Chief Minister congratulated Chairman TEVTA and his team for starting this program just in a month. She was briefed,”A thousand children were selected for the program, out of which 400 are girls.”

Madam Chief Minister said,”I am happy that a large number of girls have come to the skill development program.” She added,”The number of girls should go above 50%.”

Students from 15 TEVTA institutions participated in the event, while students from 20 other TEVTA institutes participated through video link.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Ministers Azma Zahid Bukhari, Rana Sikandar Hayat, Bilal Akbar, MPA Sania Ashiq and Mian Marghob attended the ceremony. Chief Secretary, Secretaries, and other relevant officers were also present.

“All facilities will be available in the first plug and play Garment City,” said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif while chairing a special meeting to decide on the establishment of Punjab's first plug and play garment city. She added,”Organize technical training of workers of the garment industry.”

Madam Chief Minister directed the authorities concerned to solicit expressions of interest from major apparel industries for the Garment City, and formed a high-level committee led by Minister for Industries Chaudhry Shafey Hussain for the purpose.

Earlier, Madam Chief Minister was briefed,”Sheds and other facilities like weaving, dyeing and other related units will be established in the Garment City.” It was also briefed that the proposed Garment City will be energized with green/solar energy systems. Moreover, garment cities will be established in other areas gradually, after the success of first garment city pilot project.

”No street in Lahore should remain unpaved,”said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif while chairing a high-level meeting on local government to discuss Drainage and Sewerage System, Street Repair and Rehabilitation. She added,”A sustainable water drainage system should be devised.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”WASA, MCL and other bodies concerned should work in close coordination.” She added,”People cannot bear the inconvenience caused by standing water in a street.” She highlighted,”It is painful to see dirty water and boiling sewers standing on broken streets and roads.” 

Madam Chief Minister said,”All institutions should not neglect to solve problems of the people.” She also reviewed progress on street lights, parks and horticulture in suburban communities.
